Quilled Pookolam / Rangoli

Hi all, So am back with my new post. As it was Onam, I have tried quilling a pookolam here. For many years, I have always admired the pookolam which Keralites do for Onam. I too tried doing so, but in vain :(.

After learning Quilling and after seeing Suganthi aunty's pookolam (http://papercraftss.blogspot.in/search/label/kolam) I thought of quilling my own kolam. I didnt have any particular design in mind. All I wanted to do was to quill a pookolam. So, I started with a fringed flower in the centre and four flowers at the four ends. Rest came into place as I started. I have used two new techniques here:
  • Quilling Crimper. I bought a crimper recently and couldnt wait to use it. But sadly the effect is not clearly seen. Hopefully I get some other to use it again in an effective way.
  • Beehive Technique. I just love this technique. Its so fun. Hope to use it in future too.
Well, that's it. Hope you like my quilling. Will be back soon with my new post. Till then, keep experimenting.
